Who Am I
My name is Riccardo, and I’m a trained performer and composer.
I began my career as a jazz guitarist, performing across Europe, Asia, and the U.S. During my years living in Tokyo, alongside composing and performing, I developed a deep passion for teaching improvisation. I worked with students preparing for entrance exams at top music universities, guiding them through the challenges of becoming confident, expressive players.
Over time, I discovered a pattern — we all face similar struggles when it comes to improvising on the guitar. That realization sparked an obsession: to design a cohesive, practical system that would bring clarity not only to my students, but to me as a teacher.
That system became UAL II — a framework that demystifies the fretboard and transforms the way guitarists approach learning, improvising, and creating music.
